Refund & Cancellation Policy


Effective Date: 01/03/2026

This Refund & Cancellation Policy operates in accordance with the Australian Consumer Law (Schedule 2 of the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth)).

Nothing in this policy excludes, restricts or modifies any consumer guarantees provided under Australian law.

1. General Position

Capital Beauty Academy delivers structured professional education programs including:

• Online certification programs

• In-person studio certifications

• 12-Week Artist Development Lab

• Inner Circle professional environment

• Clinical Immersion Placement (application-based)

Due to the nature of educational services and immediate access to intellectual property, refund eligibility differs depending on the type of enrolment.

2. Australian Consumer Law

Under Australian Consumer Law, you are entitled to a refund or remedy if:

• The service is not delivered with due care and skill

• The service is not fit for the purpose described

• The service is not delivered within a reasonable timeframe

Change of mind, personal circumstances, scheduling conflicts, or failure to complete coursework do not constitute grounds for refund under Australian Consumer Law.

3. Online Certification Programs

Upon purchase of an online certification program:

• Immediate access is granted to digital course materials

• Intellectual property becomes accessible

• Structured systems are unlocked

For this reason:

Refunds are not available for change of mind once access has been granted.

Refunds will not be issued due to:

• Change of career direction

• Lack of time

• Perceived difficulty of course material

• Failure to complete modules

• Failure to meet certification standards

If you believe the program has not been delivered as described, you must notify us in writing within 7 days of purchase.

Each claim will be reviewed in accordance with Australian Consumer Law.

4. 12-Week Artist Development Lab & Inner Circle

Access to the 12-Week Lab and Inner Circle is included as part of certification enrolment.

As these environments involve:

• Immediate community access

• Direct technical review

• Submission-based progression

Refunds are not available once access has been granted.

Removal from the Inner Circle due to breach of conduct does not entitle a student to refund.

5. In-Person Studio Certifications
Deposits

Deposits secure limited studio placements and are non-refundable.

Studio placements are intentionally capped to protect supervision quality.

Cancellations by Student

If cancellation occurs:

• More than 14 days prior to training: transfer to a future intake may be permitted (subject to availability).

• Within 14 days of training: fees may be forfeited.

• Failure to attend without notice: full course fee is forfeited.

Transfers are permitted at Academy discretion.

Illness or Emergency

In cases of documented serious illness or emergency, transfer options may be considered. Supporting documentation may be required.

Refunds are not guaranteed.

6. Clinical Immersion Placement

Clinical Immersion is:

• Application-based

• Performance-based

• Limited in availability

Participation is not guaranteed.

Fees associated with confirmed placement are non-refundable once scheduled.

7. Certification & Assessment

Certification is issued only upon successful completion of required assessment standards.

Failure to meet assessment criteria does not entitle a student to refund.

Certification is performance-based, not attendance-based.

8. Payment Plans

If a payment plan is entered into:

• All scheduled payments remain due

• Payment obligations are not cancelled due to non-participation

• Access may be suspended if payments are not maintained

Completion of payment plan is required prior to issuance of certification.

9. Course Modifications & Schedule Changes

Capital Beauty Academy reserves the right to:

• Reschedule training dates

• Modify delivery format

• Update course content

If a training date must be rescheduled by the Academy, students will be offered transfer to a future date.

If the Academy is unable to deliver a booked service, a refund or alternative remedy will be offered in accordance with Australian Consumer Law.

10. Digital Access Issues

If you experience technical access issues, you must notify the Academy within 7 days.

Reasonable support will be provided to resolve access concerns.

Refunds will not be issued where access has been granted and functionality is operational.

11. Exceptional Circumstances

Refund requests outside the scope of this policy will be reviewed at the sole discretion of Capital Beauty Academy.

Approval of any refund outside Australian Consumer Law obligations does not create precedent.

12. How To Request A Refund Review

All refund requests must be submitted in writing to:

Include:

• Full name

• Course enrolled

• Date of purchase

• Detailed reason for request

We aim to respond within 7 business days.

This policy is governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia.
